Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 10 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the My Massage Therapist website and your booking and receipt of services provided by My Massage Therapist.
By using this website, making an appointment, completing a client intake form, or receiving services from My Massage Therapist, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About My Massage Therapist
My Massage Therapist provides remedial massage, sports massage, soft tissue therapy, movement assessment, IASTM and exercise prescription.
Services are provided by a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist / Personal Trainer and are delivered within the therapist's professional scope of practice.
Massage therapy is intended to support physical health, movement, recovery, and performance. It does not replace medical diagnosis, emergency medical care, or assessment by another appropriately qualified healthcare professional where required.
2. Appointments and Bookings
Appointments are subject to availability and are booked through the My Massage Therapist online booking system or by arrangement with My Massage Therapist.
Appointments are managed through Cliniko, our practice management platform.
When making a booking, you agree to provide accurate and current information that is reasonably required to manage your appointment and provide safe and appropriate treatment.
My Massage Therapist reserves the right to decline, modify or reschedule an appointment where treatment is considered unsuitable, unsafe or outside the scope of the services provided.
3. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, may incur the full appointment fee.
As a courtesy, the first late cancellation or missed appointment may be waived as a kind reminder of the 24-hour cancellation policy. This is a discretionary courtesy and does not create an ongoing entitlement to waived fees.
Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged in accordance with this policy.
Cancellation fees and unattended appointment fees are not eligible for private health fund rebates.
4. Late Arrivals
Clients are expected to arrive on time for their appointment.
If you arrive late, your treatment time may need to be reduced to ensure that subsequent appointments can commence on time.
The full appointment fee may still apply.
Where a client arrives sufficiently late that the appointment can no longer reasonably proceed, the appointment may be treated as a missed appointment or late cancellation.
5. Health Information and Client Responsibility
Before treatment, clients may be required to complete an intake form and provide relevant information regarding their health, injuries, medications, medical conditions, previous surgeries and other circumstances that may affect treatment.
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information.
You must notify My Massage Therapist of any relevant changes to your health or circumstances before treatment.
Failure to disclose relevant information may affect whether treatment is appropriate and may increase the risk of an adverse response.
Further information regarding informed consent, health information, and treatment safety is contained in the My Massage Therapist Privacy & Informed Consent Policy.
6. Assessment and Treatment
Treatment may involve an assessment of movement, posture, range of motion and relevant musculoskeletal structures before treatment is provided.
Depending on the individual presentation, treatment may include remedial massage, sports massage, manual therapy techniques, trigger point work, IASTM and other techniques considered appropriate within the therapist's scope of practice.
Treatment may be modified based on assessment findings, client feedback and clinical considerations.
Verbal consent may be sought before different phases or techniques of treatment.
Clients may decline or withdraw consent to a particular technique or treatment at any time.
7. Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation
Where appropriate, My Massage Therapist may provide exercise or movement recommendations as part of a treatment plan.
These may include mobility exercises, stretching, strengthening exercises, movement drills, or modifications to gym and sporting activities.
Exercises are provided based on the information available at the time of assessment.
Clients are responsible for performing exercises according to the instructions provided and within their own capabilities.
If an exercise causes significant pain, unusual symptoms or a worsening of symptoms, the client should stop the exercise and seek appropriate professional advice.
Exercise recommendations are not a guarantee that a particular condition, injury, or pain will resolve within a specified period.
8. Suitability and Referral
Not every treatment or technique is appropriate for every individual.
My Massage Therapist may modify, postpone, or decline treatment where there are contraindications, safety concerns, or where another healthcare professional would be more appropriate.
Where appropriate, clients may be advised to seek assessment or treatment from a GP, physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath or another suitably qualified healthcare professional.
A referral or recommendation to another healthcare professional does not constitute a diagnosis by My Massage Therapist.
9. Treatment Expectations
Treatment outcomes vary between individuals.
My Massage Therapist does not guarantee a particular treatment outcome, level of pain reduction, recovery time, sporting performance outcome or other specific result.
Some clients may experience temporary soreness, tenderness, bruising, fatigue or other short-term responses following treatment.
If you experience concerning or unexpected symptoms following treatment, seek appropriate medical advice.
10. Professional Boundaries
All services provided by My Massage Therapist are professional therapeutic services.
Professional draping is maintained throughout treatment, with only the area being actively treated exposed.
Sexual services are not provided, offered, or implied.

Where applicable, clients are responsible for determining whether their private health insurance policy provides a rebate for remedial massage services.
My Massage Therapist does not guarantee that a particular health fund or policy will provide a rebate.
Cancellation fees and unattended appointment charges cannot be claimed as treatment services for private health fund rebate purposes.
