Conditions We Treat in Liverpool
Pain, tightness or restricted movement can affect everything from work and everyday activities to running, lifting and sport.
At My Massage Therapist in Liverpool, I provide assessment-led remedial and sports massage for a range of muscular and movement-related problems.
I don't use the same treatment for every condition. Your appointment starts with understanding your symptoms, what movements are affected and what you're trying to get back to doing. Treatment is then tailored to your individual presentation.
Explore the conditions below to find out more about how I approach treatment.
-
Lower back pain and tightness can affect sitting, bending, lifting and training. I assess your movement and symptoms before providing targeted remedial treatment.
-
A stiff or painful neck can make driving, desk work, sleeping and training uncomfortable. Treatment focuses on relevant muscular tension and movement restrictions.

Shoulder pain can interfere with reaching, pressing, pulling and overhead movements. I assess the shoulder and relevant surrounding areas to guide targeted treatment.
-
Elbow and forearm pain can affect gripping, repetitive work, gym training and everyday tasks. Treatment considers the forearm as well as relevant wrist, elbow and shoulder function.
-
Pain that travels from the lower back or buttock into the leg needs careful assessment. I assess your symptoms and movement to determine whether massage is appropriate or further investigation may be needed.
-
Hip pain or tightness can affect walking, running, squatting and lower-body training. Assessment helps determine which movement, strength and muscular findings may be relevant.
-
Knee pain can make squatting, running, stairs and lower-body training uncomfortable. I assess the knee alongside relevant hip and ankle movement rather than focusing only on the painful area.
-
Achilles pain or stiffness can interfere with running, jumping, sport and everyday walking. Treatment may address relevant calf tightness and movement restrictions alongside practical activity advice.
-
Tight or overworked calves can affect running, jumping, walking and lower-body training. I consider your calf function, ankle movement and recent activity when planning treatment.
-
Hamstring pain or tightness can affect running, sprinting, deadlifts and other lower-body movements. Treatment is based on your symptoms, relevant movement and what your hamstrings need to tolerate.
-
Heel pain can make walking, standing and running uncomfortable, particularly after rest or changes in activity. I assess relevant calf, ankle and movement findings rather than assuming every painful heel has the same cause.
-
Feeling heavily worked after training or competition? Sports massage can be tailored around the muscles you've trained, how you're feeling and what you've got coming up next.
Not Sure Which Condition Fits Your Symptoms?
You don't need to diagnose yourself before booking.
Sometimes symptoms don't fit neatly into one category, or pain in one area may need assessment of surrounding movement and muscular function.
At your appointment, I'll ask about your symptoms, training, work and everyday activities before assessing relevant movement, range of motion and strength within my scope.
From there, I'll explain what I've found and tailor your remedial massage or sports massage accordingly.
If your presentation needs further investigation or treatment outside my scope, I'll recommend an appropriate referral.
My Approach to Pain & Movement Problems
My approach is assessment-led rather than following a standard massage routine.
Depending on your presentation, treatment may include deep tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, stretching and IASTM where appropriate.
I may also provide relevant exercise aftercare to help you work on strength, mobility or movement between appointments.
I'm a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist with more than 4 years of hands-on experience and over 3,000 treatment sessions. I work with general remedial massage clients as well as CrossFit athletes, lifters, runners, gym-goers and people involved in a range of sports.
